Participants would need to have attended our previous “Fundamentals in the GDPR” training or equivalent.
Europe’s new General Data Protection Regulation, which will come into effect in May of 2018 and embraces a risk-based approach to data protection. The GDPR outlines that organisations that control the processing of personal data need to implement protective measures corresponding to the level of risk of their data processing activities. This workshop will cover how to conduct a GDPR Risk Assessment.

Risk assessment for GDPR is something every organisation needs to do, and it involves the following:
- Accurately assessing your unique risk profile
- Taking appropriate measures to mitigate the security risks you identify
- Repeating the risk assessment and mitigation process on a regular basis
This course gives guidance to SMEs as to how to:
- Identify the high risks of you organisation
- Mitigate them
- Compile documentary evidence
Topics to be covered include:
- Policy reviews or policy gaps
- 3rd Party Processors
- Data Inventory
- Cyber Security
- Risk assessment template
With only 12 participants, there will be a practical workshop element to this course.
Note, this is workshop 1 in a series of GDPR specific workshops. It is recommended to complete them in logical sequence (where possible) to maximise learning.
